Who We Are
Our Story
The name MYoung originated from the name Mourice, our founder, envisioning young people as the main partners of the future environment. He started engaging with teachers and community leaders to allow the conversation and ideas begin, and luckily they welcomed it all.
Our Mission
To partner with learning institutions, civil societies and government agencies to reach out to youths in both formal and non-formal sectors to enhance growth of a generation with positive environmental conservation mindset.
Our Milestones
2019
Mourice Barasa founds MYoung Environmental Initiative
2022
Arnold Oricho joins MYoung as our acting Secretary.
2023
Lillian Etabale joins us as a public speaker for our events held at schools.
2023
Brice Pierce becomes Director of Design and Marketing.

These organizational values are at the core of our work, shaping how we make decisions, and guiding how we engage and interact with partners, donors, peer organizations, and each other. We are working to solve a challenging problem, rooted in complex, interwoven causes. We acknowledge that we are certainly not alone in doing so. MYoung Environmental Initiative is committed to honoring and preserving the wisdom and traditions of indigenous communities. We recognize the importance of indigenous knowledge in sustainable environmental practices and will actively engage with and learn from indigenous leaders and communities.
